Email Marketing – Do You Have The Skills?

Email Marketing - Do You Have The Skills?

When you begin studying marketing, online business and blogging, you will hear over and over again about the importance of email marketing. But what in the world is it, and how do you implement this practically into your business?

What is Email Marketing?

Email marketing at its simplest form is collecting the email addresses of your readers (with their permission), and send these readers information about your own products, sponsored products, and/or affiliate products you are connected with.

Sounds simple, right?

Well, while the concept is simple, the execution is not always. There are many steps to consider, such as which service you should use for sending out your newsletter (the free Mailchimp, or the powerful GetResponse), and how to create a freebie that makes your readers WANT to subscribe in the first place. Not an easy task, when you are on your own and are trying to figure out which way to go.

Not even my favorite program for marketing Wealthy Affiliate has much to teach on that front.

So, where do you learn email marketing?

Email Marketing

Faced with that same question, I decided to take a class by Jeff Goins called “Effective E-mail and Newsletter Marketing” , on the awesome platform CreativeLive, and I loved it.

Here are the 21 video lesson, Jeff presents in this course:

The course also includes workbooks and resource material, which alone are worth the course. I can hardly wait to implement all of the steps that Jeff Goin’s has taught me and highly recommend this course.

you might have about this type of marketing. It absolutely has for me.

Make Money Online: Up Your Blogging Productivity With These 5 Tips

Up Your Blogging Productivity

Need to get more done then you have time? While this seems to be a constant state for anyone who wants to make money online, there are ways to make our lives a little easier. Streamlining some of your daily activities can make a marvellous difference in your productivity, and help you maybe even have a little bit a life left? Wouldn’t that be nice?

Up Your Blogging Productivity! 5 Tips - Read more here! #blogging #blogtips #blogs Click To Tweet

Here are 5 Blogging Productivity Tips That Will Assist You In Getting More Things Done

  1. Use automation tools. Whether you use Hootsuite, Tailwind or Buffer (my personal favorite), all three of these will allow you to maximise your ability to have a consistent social media presence without being a slave to the computer. I chose the professional version of Buffer because it allows me to also schedule pins for Pinterest, the free version only allows you to use Linkedin, Facebook, Twitter and Goggle +, and you are limited to 10 scheduled posts, while the professional version gives you the freedom to choose 100 posts ahead of time.
  2. Find out about promo days in Facebook groups. There are tons of facebook groups that allow you to post your blog posts, twitter posts, and pins – on specific days. Blogging support groups and marketing groups are easy to find on facebook, just make sure that you are clear about their rules when it comes to posting. Some have daily threads, others weekly. Note these days in your editorial calendar
  3. Create an editorial calendar. Seriously, that is one of the most important strategies that will keep you producing content at a higher rate, and with a much more coherent theme, then if you just post randomly throughout the week. You can create different themes for a specific day – for example, I have a weekly series on my wellness blog, where I post a gratitude list and weekly recap every Friday. Knowing what to post saves you time, and you can research in bulk, considering that some of your content will relate to each other – at least I hope it does.
  4. Be open to guest posting. Having someone else write relevant content on your blog is a great way to connect with other bloggers and grow your audience, but it is also a great way to fill blank space in your editorial calendar. Just make sure that the guest blogger knows exactly what you are expecting, so it is a good idea to have a pre-set guidelines for guest posting. I write more extensively about that subject here.
  5. Get a Virtual Assistant. While that might seem like a million miles away from being affordable for some new bloggers, it is actually cheaper than you might think. You can outsource specific tasks on Fiverr, or hire a part time Virtual Assistant from a reputable company, who lives in a country outside of the US. I use Virtual Staff Finder, which hires exclusively from the Philippines, and I have always been very happy about their service.

7 Creative Ways To Make Money From Home

7 Creative Ways To Make Money From Home

Creating an independent income while working at home as a stay at home parent, requires some out of the box thinking, but I have compiled a list of 7 creative ways to make money from home, to give you some ideas on how to get started right now.
1. Translate websites via Fiverr. If you are bilingual like I am, you can work on Fiverr as a translator for companies who often need their websites translated from your native language to English. You can charge by page or word count, and the great thing is, that you will not need a website, or have any upfront cost in getting started! This can get pretty interesting, as I have translated anything from a book about yoga, to online gambling websites!

2. Write an eBook and publish it on Amazon. Writing an eBook is a lot less complicated than you might think. Amazon allows you to upload your creation for free, all you have to do is put in the work. I have recently written a post about how you can write an eBook in a very short period of time. Check it out here.

3. Sell products online using drop shipping. No worry, you will not have to hold inventory at home, or use your kitchen counter to create items in bulk with this option. Drop shipping allows you to sell products via wholesalers without holding any inventory in your hands. Essentially you just collect the customers information and forward it to your wholesaler, who then distributes the product for you. You can check out more information about this type of business model in the following articles I have written.

Drop Shipping Wholesale Suppliers: How To Find Them

4. Become a dog walker. Not only is it great for your pocket book, but you also get some exercise out of the deal. If you love dogs, this is a great option for you!.

Paradise Floral Print

5. Design and sell business cards on Zazzle. Business cards are a hot item to sell on Zazzle, as are other consumable paper products like Wedding invitations. With no upfront cost and some marketing skills, you can make a nice addition to your families income. You can read more about how to get started on Zazzle here.

6. Sell your art and photography on RedBubble. If you are a talented photographer or a visual artist, you can upload your images onto RedBubble, which in return will place your design on posters, postcards, cell phone cases, home decor and more. There are no upfront costs. For more info, read this.

7. Become a freelance writer. is always looking for talented writers, who they would love to connect with their clients! Again, it costs nothing to start, and you can work as much or as little as you want. Check out this article for more information on getting started today!

Make Money Online: Freelance – Work From Home

Make Money Online- Writing For Money

If you love to write, are a web designer, or a great at marketing and have an eye for detail, there are plenty of opportunities to do some freelance work from home. But just as there are many legit opportunities, there are also plenty of scams. Today, I want to focus on one freelance work from home platform I have had the most positive experiences with –

Freelancer is an Australian based company, that has been in business since 2004, and serves as a marketplace both for entrepreneurs looking for content writers, as well as for freelancers looking for work. It is a highly regarded large
outsourcing marketplace that serves nearly 8 million registered and verified users. Work offered range from data entry, marketing, writing, as well as web and software development.

What I like about the program:
1. It is an established platform with a large amount of investors, and has a legitimate management and leadership team I can trust.
2. It has a wide variety of freelance opportunities, not being limited to article writing, I can utilize all of my skills on one platform
3. It is an easy to use platform that is user-friendly, both for the freelancer and for hiring freelancers (I have used both sides now, and have never had any problems with either getting work or hiring someone to work for me – unlike Fiverr)
4. There are multiple payment options available (paying and receiving), so you are not stuck using paypal.

What I do not like about the program
1. In order to get more offers, Freelancer does require you to upgrade. While you can make money with the free account, it is easier with a premium account. Still, the prices of each account level are not substantial, considering the potential of money you can make, so upgrading was worth it for me.

My conclusion:

Freelancer is a user-friendly place that gives new freelancers the opportunity to build their platform and opportunity until they established enough customers to no longer be relying on marketing platforms like this one. That to me is the ultimate goal here – to make enough money and to create enough of a customer base to become a self-sufficient freelancer. Use Freelancer to build your brand, reputation and experience, while earning money, and you are on your way to independent success.

9 Legit Passive Income Ideas You Can Work From Home

9 Legit Passive Income Ideas You Can Work From Home

1. Write an sell a Kindle Book and publish it on Amazon
People are always looking for something new to read, and if you are particularly knowledgeable in an area
(or always wanted to learn more about it) write an ebook to publish on Kindle. Amazon makes it easy to
publish your books via the KDP Publishing platform, and it does not cost you a dime. I love working with Amazon
and will be posting a lot more about how this works in detail shortly

9 Legit Passive Income Ideas You Can Work From Home - Books
2. Place affiliate marketing links onto your blog.
No matter what niche you are into – from dog training to weight-lifting, there are affiliate programs out there
that fit with your content. Add these special links to your posts, and you can make money, each and every time
someone purchases someone from the companies you are affiliated with. One of my favorite passive income strategies.
3. Dropshipping!
You can create an online store – for example via Shopify – and sell products without ever having to carry inventory.
So instead of having to maintain  storage and ship item yourselves, you capture orders and give the drop ship company directions on where to send the item to, of course for profit.

9 Legit Passive Income Ideas You Can Work From Home - Google Adsense
4. Build and maintain a youtube channel and get Adsense revenue.
Yes, you can get paid for creating a youtube channel. By now you have probably heard of people like PewDiePie making more than just a living on this platform, so trying to get a slice of that pie is not a bad idea. Pick a niche,
produce quality content, and publish regularly.
5. Start investing your profits.
Begin investing some of your passive income money into different investment opportunities to grow your portfolio. Begin small and work with a trusted advisor, but do not wait until you have a larger amount of money to begin to invest

9 Legit Passive Income Ideas You Can Work From Home - Investments
6. Create a book review website
If you like to read, and also like to share what you think about what you read, this is the perfect opportunity for you.
With services like NetGalley, where publishers actively share new releases with bloggers in return for reviews, and
Amazon’s Associate program, where you can link to their listings via affiliate links, you can build a profitable
and interesting site, especially if you write about current releases on a regular basis. I have been reviewing for NetGalley for over three years now, and love working with them, as well as Authors directly.
7. Design for one of the product on demand sites, like Zazzle, CafePress, Society 6, RedBubble and more, and sell these items!
You can create funny, adorable or whatever you want them to be – designs, upload them to the above-mentioned sites, and receive a commission when they sell. Of course, you will have to do the marketing for those products, for example using your blog, website, social media connections of Pinterest, to drive traffic to those designs, but if you are willing to put in the time, you can continuously make money on these products. I just sold a vintage postcard last week, a design that I placed over a year ago onto Zazzle. It still makes my profit today! And that is just one of my over 200 designs I have on these platforms now.

9 Legit Passive Income Ideas You Can Work From Home - Amazon

8. Create a product, book or course out of the blog posts and content you have already written.
This is especially great for niche bloggers who have had an active site for a while now. You can turn what you have already written into profitable products that way, especially if you tweak it just a little to make it more current and up-to-date, as well as interesting. Food bloggers can take advantage of this, by creating their own cookbook, which they often do. The same goes for people who write a lot about health, or alternative healing methods. There are many opportunities for you to refurbish your content into a larger piece of content.

9. Create a Product-Review niche site, and use Amazon links to generate income.
the most important thing is that you go niche on this. A too broad subject review site will not get the attention of
consumers quite as fast as a niche site will. Amazon makes it easy for you to build a niche site on just about every
subject and product you are interested in. Your niche can be a coffee machine review site, or a site dedicated to
food supplements, the potential is as diverse and large as there are categories on Amazon. With a little bit of creativity, you can create quite a profitable site.

Question: Dou you have a favorite passive income stream you like to utilize? Is it on this list? If not, why not share your idea with everyone in the comment section? Thanks!

Getting Started: Creating A Website and Blog

Getting Started- Creating A Website and Blog

Congratulations, for deciding to begin your journey to creating a passive income. No matter which path, or a combination of paths (which is what I highly suggest) of passive income streams you choose, you will need a blog and website to serve you as a starting point for your online endeavour. But, if you are new to this, the choices can be

There are blogging platform options that are completely free, which you could use to get started. While this works
for some, it is not the best for someone who is trying to build more than a simple personal blog, and here is why:
1. Does not allow monetization. does not allow the use of Goggle Adsense ads and frowns upon affiliate links placed upon their websites.

2. You can only use limited plugins. Email newsletter options, pop-ups and social media sharing plug-in are just a few options that are very limited on those free websites. All of these options can not only make your life easier but are essential in creating and collecting a subscriber base, from which you can market your products, services or books from.
I use SiteRubix to host my sites (yes, I have multiple websites) and am very happy with them. My only regret is, that I did not switch over to this host earlier, as I would have avoided some disasters along the way. Their customer support is superb, always available, fast and friendly.

You can get started right now, and try it out free – hosting for two sites is free and there is no credit card required.
The best thing is that it comes with the free membership of Wealthy Affiliate (you can check out my review here), which teaches you every step on how to set up your website – from picking a theme, to installing plug-ins.

4626a5837bce0c8288c46a2957d6e331_1424056601_croppedHow to get started:
Simply follow this link and follow the sign-up instructions. You will have access to video lessons that will talk you
through the setup, which takes only a few seconds.

If you have any additional questions about how to setup your website, or how about SiteRubix, leave a comment below, and I will be happy to answer any question you might have.

Jaaxy Free Keyword Search Tool

Jaaxy Free Keyword Search Tool

You have probably heard about keyword search tools, and that you really should begin using one. Well, I am
giving you access to Jaaxy, a free keyword search tool right now!

Here are some tips on how to make the most out of this tool:

You will see the terms “Monthly Searches”, KQI (Keyword Quality Index), QSR (Quoted Search Results), and SEO Power.
This is what they stand for:
1. Monthly searches
how many people are searching for the individual keyword you have chosen – your most important indicator of the relevance of a topic
2. KQI – a real-time up-to-date info that tells you what the quality of your chosen keyword is.
3. QSR – your competition number. It tells you how many other pages are writing about this particular keyword. Ideally, you want this number to be under 300 when searching for a keyword to rank on.
4. SEO Power – a very cool tool to use to see if you can get this keyword to rank easily or not – it is based on the
traffic, the nature of the keyword, the competition, and the keyword quality.

Give the tool a try, and if you have any additional questions, let me know in the comments below.
